The Most Common Phrases Used By Egyptians

Every nation has its own set of words that seem to be on repeat. Here are some of the most common Egyptian ones we use practically in every other sentence. “Sabah al full wal yasmine” is our creative and very colorful way of saying good morning! “Kul sana winta tayyeb” though technically a birthday greeting, we use this all the time for no real reason at all — kind of like a “I’m glad you’re alive!” “Teshrab shayy?” — of course, offering tea. “Tannish” – the Egyptian version of let it goooo. “Ya basha” – no matter what the person does, they’re given this lovely title which literally means, pasha. “El talta thabta” when something fails twice and you bank on the third trial.
