Final Plans Revealed for Game-Changing Saudi Egypt Causeway Project

Big moves are underway between Saudi Arabia and Egypt! The two nations have officially wrapped up plans for a massive infrastructure project set to reshape regional connectivity. A new US$3 billion causeway and high-speed railway will link Ras Hamid in Saudi Arabia to Nassrani in Egypt, crossing the Tiran Strait.

The project is more than just a bridge, it’s a bold step toward faster, more efficient travel. The causeway will span 26 to 30 kilometers, measuring 36 meters wide. The design includes three lanes for road traffic in each direction, plus a central 11.3-meter-wide track for a two-line railway.

The real headline? Travel time between the two countries will drop to just 30 minutes. That’s thanks to high-speed trains expected to reach 250 km/h on the causeway itself and up to 350 km/h on the mainland sections.

The Saudi Egypt Causeway project is a transportation breakthrough and a symbol of stronger economic and strategic cooperation between two key players in the region. It’s expected to open doors for trade, tourism, and logistics, all while dramatically improving mobility across the Red Sea.

Now that the plan is complete, construction could begin soon. This mega project will directly connect Africa and the Gulf, cutting distances and uniting people, businesses, and cultures.
