Tom And Jerry Director Gene Deitch Dies Aged 95

Tom and Jerry director Gene Deitch passed away earlier this week at the age of 95.

The Oscar winner was found dead on Thursday night at his apartment in Prague in the Little Quarter area.

His Czech publisher Petr Himmel said he died “unexpectedly”, according to The Associated Press.

Throughout his long career, Gene directed 13 episodes of Tom and Jerry and several episodes of the series Popeye, both of which were an essential part of many people’s childhoods.

May his soul rest in peace.
