Korba is about to become more walkable with a car-free rule! Parts of the historic area are now closing to cars as work begins on plans to turn some of its streets into pedestrian-friendly spaces. The entrance to Korba Square from Al-Ahram Street has been closed to traffic, while Ibrahim Pasha Street has also reportedly been closed toward Baghdad Street.
The closures are part of a plan to turn several Korba streets into walking paths and open spaces. The goal is simple: less traffic, more space for people to walk and enjoy Korba. The project will also focus on keeping the area’s famous historic architecture and unique character.
The pedestrian-friendly changes could make Korba an even more enjoyable destination for casual walks, cafés, shopping and simply taking in the neighborhood. For now, the closures mark the beginning of what could be a major change for one of Cairo’s most beloved historic areas.
So, if you’re heading to Korba soon, expect fewer cars, more walking and a whole new way to experience the neighborhood!
