Cairo Mango Festival: A Two-Day Celebration of Egypt’s Favorite Fruit
Are you a mango lover? Cairo Mango Festival is coming to Al Horreya Garden in Zamalek on August 17 and 18, bringing together fresh Egyptian mangoes, mango-inspired food, fun activities, and plenty of ways to discover this much-loved fruit. The two-day festival will showcase some of the most famous Egyptian mango varieties, with fresh offerings and culinary experiences that prove mangoes are about much more than simply eating them cold and fresh.
Mangoes, But Make It Part of A Dish
Get ready to see mangoes in a whole new way. The festival will feature mango-inspired dishes, desserts, and drinks, along with exciting mango cooking competitions. Because yes, mangoes can do much more than sit in your fruit bowl!
From the Tree to Export
Curious about how mangoes make their way from farms to markets around the world? The festival will host talks and lectures exploring the journey of Egyptian mangoes, from growing on the tree to being prepared for export.
Plant a Mango Tree
The festival is also encouraging visitors to think about growing their own mangoes through its “Plant a Mango Tree” initiative. The idea is simple: make use of whatever space you have, whether it’s a garden, rooftop, balcony, or even a small corner at home.
Fun for Kids and Families
Little mango lovers can join Mango Festival Junior, a series of workshops that introduce children to the basics of agriculture and to where their food comes from. There’s something for adults too. Women can take part in workshops on how to dry mangoes at home, turning the seasonal fruit into something they can enjoy later.
With fresh fruit, food, workshops, competitions, and family-friendly activities, the Cairo Mango Festival is shaping up to be a fun two-day celebration of one of Egypt’s favorite summer fruits.
