New cafés are popping up all over Cairo, and we’re not complaining. If you’re ready to try somewhere different, start with these three new openings.
Straight from Saudi Arabia, Ratio has opened its first Cairo branch in Park St., with another location coming soon to Sheikh Zayed. The café has beautiful indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to catch up with friends or enjoy a quiet coffee. Their V60 is a must try, and the fresh baked pastries are just as good. You’ll also find bottled signature drinks, sandwiches, and bagels on the menu.
If you’re looking for a rooftop café with great views, head to J Cafe 1996 in Heliopolis. Their passion fruit drink and mojito are perfect for hot summer days. Pair your drink with the tiramisu or cheesecake if you’re craving something sweet with your coffee. There’s even a set of swings, adding a fun touch to your visit.
Inspired by its first branch in Milan, Black Milan has brought a new coffee experience to Cairo with Egypt’s first slow bar coffee concept. Watching your coffee being prepared is part of the fun. Their summer menu includes refreshing drinks like the Iced Spanish Foam, Monte Black, Aperitivo, Black Red, and Black Matcha. Don’t miss the deconstructed tiramisu, and make sure to grab one of their croissants, cookies, or other baked treats while you’re there.
