Egypt is preparing to introduce a new step to make the internet safer for kids. The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in Egypt announced that child-friendly SIM cards are expected to be launched this month.

The new SIM cards will help parents control what their children can access online. They will include content filters that block pornographic websites, violent material, and tools that are usually used to bypass internet restrictions.

With these SIM cards, parents will have better control over their kids’ online activity. In addition, internet use will become safer without stopping them from using apps, studying, or browsing normally.

Officials said the goal is to protect children from harmful content while still respecting freedom of use. The idea is to add safety features, not to limit access completely. The move comes as more children in Egypt are using smartphones and the internet at younger ages, which made the need for stronger online safety tools more important than ever.
