The Ultimate Family Day Out in Egypt? Try Strawberry Picking at Shujaa Farms!

You want a fun, easy day out that’s not a mall or a café? Egypt’s Shujaa Farms is exactly that. It’s only one hour from Cairo on the Ismailia–Suez Desert Road (KM 15, Ismailia), and it’s perfect if you just want to get out of the city for a few hours and do something different.

When you go, you don’t just see strawberries, you pick them yourself. You walk into the fields with a basket and choose the ones you want. It’s simple, fun, and surprisingly addictive. During mango season, you can also pick your own mangoes, which makes the trip even better.

This place has been around since 1985, and it was the first farm in Egypt to let visitors pick their own fruit. They also run a mango and strawberry festival every year, so it’s not just a farm, it’s a full experience.

You can also sit and enjoy a real Egyptian breakfast there, so you don’t have to rush back. And if you’re going with kids, they’ll love the ducks walking around that you can feed and play with.

It’s easy, relaxed, and actually fun. You go home with fresh fruit, nice photos, and the feeling that you did something better than just sitting in a cafe all day.
