Egypt will host the 31st FIBA Intercontinental Cup, according to the Egyptian Basketball Federation. Egypt will be the first-ever African country to host an international basketball tournament in its history. The FIBA Intercontinental Cup, also known as the FIBA Club World Cup, is an annual competition that brings together the best clubs from each geographical zone. The tournament is set to take place in February and will be held at Cairo’s Hassan Mostafa Sports Hall from February 11th to February 13th, 2022, following the draw at a to-be-determined date before the games. The Egyptian Super League champions, Zamalek, will be the first African team to compete in this prestigious event. The team will face three other teams: Flamengo from Brazil, Lakeland Magic from the United States, and San Pablo Burgos from Spain.
