A horrific crime has shaken the Jordanian community, shining a light on the struggle of women and domestic violence and abuse.
Rania al Abadi was killed by her father for her grade point average dropping in college.
The 21-year old passed away due to injuries she sustained at the hands of her father, with her mother and maternal uncle also participating in the abuse.
Here were some of the reactions on social media:
a woman named rania was murdered yesterday, all because she failed a uni subject, her father beat her up to death, her family’s claiming she fell of the balcony. Another girl added to the list of murdered in Jordan, when will change happen?! #رانيا_العبادي
