The St. Katherine Protectorate is an Egyptian national park in the south of Sinai that will take your breath away! There, you’ll find the iconic monastery that is a must visit, as well as a mosque dating back to the Fatimid era.


It includes the country’s highest mountain, Mount Catherine which stands at at 2,629 meters.



The area is home to around 7,000 Egyptian Bedouin citizens from six different tribes who play a very vital role in managing the protectorate with their invaluable traditional knowledge about the area and its natural characteristics.
