Egyptian Council Of Ministers Approves Draft Amendment Of Law Related To Harassment

The Egyptian Ministry of Justice has put forward a new law that will ensure the privacy and anonymity of women who need to speak out about sexual harassment, abuse, or rape, or anyone who chooses to testify on these matters.

The Prime Minister approved the new law which protects victims and their identity within the legal system.

This comes after a 21-year-old Egyptian university student was arrested within days after hundreds of women took to social media to share accusations of sexual assault and harassment against him.
