Egyptian Prime Minster Mostafa Madbouly has announced that Egypt will be suspending its aviation movement in all airports between March 19 and March 31. He also added that during this suspension period, all hotels in Egypt will undergo a nation-wide sterilization campaign. Madbouly explained that this suspension would cost Egypt huge losses that could amount to LE 2.25 billion in both the tourism and aviation sectors, “however we value the Egyptians’ health over anything else,” he added. Madbouly also urged Egyptians not to underestimate the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, and encouraged citizens to follow all precautions to combat and contain the emerging virus.
