The Grand Egyptian Museum To Open At The End Of 2020

Finally! The long-awaited Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo is set to be open by the end of 2020, and is already proclaimed as one of the biggest cultural events of the year. The museum’s completion has been delayed for several years, but is now said to be 90% finished. An official opening date will be announced by Egyptian president Abdel-Fattah Al Sisi, so we’ll keep you updated! Meanwhile, the museum’s entry fees have been set in stone: For foreigners: LE400 (about US$25), with 50% off for students. For Egyptians: LE60 (about US$3.75) With the opening of the museum, Egypt is expecting to receive more than 15 million tourists in 2020.
