404 is the error you get when you hit non-existing content on the web. The founders of this unique art society decided to let that error be the very motive that unites them. The arts are not often found or appreciated in Egyptian and Arab society, they are completely 404. They’ve decided to let the non-existence of art be the impulse to create.
Pen or brush, guitar pick or camera, this is every artist’s common ground, it’s your time.
Founded by Salma Zakareya (19 years old) and Youssef Mansour (17 years old), 404 aims to be a community of young artists of all genres. Their aim is to establish a wide, diverse network of passionate creators and to build a platform where they get the exposure they deserve and share their art in a supporting community where they get accepted and valued.
Their launching event took place last July (open mic and art exhibition), featuring over 100 artists!
They had two photo walks at Zamalek and El Darb El Ahmar during the last months. They’ve got some very special events coming up soon (including an exploration trip to Alexandria) (That’s exclusive!), so stay tuned!
